Bengaluru is observing capability disruption of digital offerings as the civic body BBMP has resorted to the massive-scale cutting of optical fiber cables of telecom and internet provider vendors, in step with the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
This random cutting of OFC across areas like Sarjapur Road, Whitefield, Marathahalli, Bellandur, and Sarjapur with no earlier intimation to telecom and net carrier providers leads to significant outages and inconvenience to citizens, it stated in a press release.
“Over 1,47 two hundred Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) on approximately 34,700 towers were hooked up in Karnataka to help smartphone, mobile, and internet communication sense -1.28 %. This, by myself, equals Rs 14,500 crore in community investments. The area generates approximately Rs 10,000 crore according to annual revenues in Karnataka on my own,” it said.
BBMP treats all-over-the-floor cables as unauthorized, even though the enterprise had received all necessary permissions and had initially laid them underground.
